deepIDM is an AI chatbot tool designed to support educators in creating inquiry-based instructional materials using the Inquiry Design Model (IDM). It aims to enhance teacher learning by offering a custom-built GPT that assist with each stage of the inquiry design process—from selecting content and framing compelling questions to developing supporting questions and locating sources. Grounded in principles of recursive, dialogic design, the project leverages AI not as a content generator but as a thinking partner that encourages iterative exploration, disciplinary thinking, and pedagogical reflection. Ultimately, the goal is to build teachers’ capacity to design high-quality inquiries while advancing new possibilities for AI-human collaboration in education. Read more about deepIDM below.
