What is the C3 Teachers Leadership Academy?
Modeled on the classical spirit of Plato’s Academy, our program is more than just a professional learning series. It is a collaborative and reflective learning space designed to:
- Explore new ideas about inquiry instruction
- Support real-world implementation of inquiry design
- Provide space for innovation and dialogue
- Develop inquiry leadership grounded in both theory and practice
The C3 Teachers Leadership Academy is committed to fostering a dynamic community of educators who are passionate about inquiry-based social studies instruction. Our mission is to deepen practice, build leadership, and strengthen networks to advance inquiry across schools and districts.
Academy Goals
- Grow Inquiry Practice: Support participants as they refine and expand inquiry efforts in classrooms, schools, and districts
- Energize Innovation: Introduce bold, research-informed practices rooted in the Inquiry Design Model (IDM) and C3 Framework
- Connect the Field: Build a robust network of educators who share strategies, questions, and experiences from across the country
- Elevate Inquiry Leadership: Develop skills and confidence to lead professional learning and shape systemic inquiry implementation
What Participation Looks Like
The Academy operates on a nine-month calendar, combining virtual and in-person experiences:
- Monthly webinars or strand meetings
- Inquiry Coaching (3x per year)
- Two In-Person Gatherings:
- Buddy System: Participants are matched across teams for deeper collaboration
